Strobist Methodology

I think every photographer can appreciate the merits of a good studio strobe set-up. I myself have invested in a Novotron kit for it's power and versatility.

A few months ago I came across a photographer by the name of David Hobby and his Strobist blogspot (http://strobist.blogspot.com/). The Strobist methodology is all about portability and light control using speedlights rather than a full powerpack based studio strobe set-up. His website is chock full of lighting wisdom that is applicable to both systems.

In my own small way that is what I was trying to use to shoot Sara last friday in the back lot at the studio. I'm still working on technical issues and so I didn't get exactly what I was looking for but it was usable. If you ever have some time to read on-line you should check it out.

I do not fully understand the 'strobist' thing, it seems like a fad with a lot of people.

Though I did come across the website nearly two years ago I think. Well it has been a long while though I don't really remember anything from it.

Anyway, just was gunna say I think I have had a lot of success in the 'Back Lot' using only a single speedlight. Though I would have enjoyed more, there is something for bouncing light with props L()L
