Recording and Rehearsal Studio Booking Information

The studio is available for recording sessions and rehearsals 7 days a week, during both daytime and nighttime hours. All sessions and rentals are by appointment. No business is done on a walk-in basis. We maintain the privacy of the studio and we do not answer the door to anyone who does not have a confirmed reservation or appointment.

Studio time is available only during booked session or rehearsal hours. We do not offer free personal studio tours, or free in-studio project consultations. We are very happy to discuss your projects with you by phone or email, and to provide extensive information and photos of our facilities prior to booking. For those wishing to visit in-person prior to booking a recording session or rehearsal, we offer two options: First, studio tours are offered within our occasional Studio Open House Night events. And second, for project consultations or for personal site visits at times other than the Open House hours, we offer a 45-minute in-studio listening session at the rate of $25. Listening sessions are requested/booked in the same manner as regular session/rental time, as described below.

Booking Request Time Frames

Our posted rates apply to bookings confirmed at least 48 hours in advance.
For first-time clients, confirmation of the initial reservation includes completion of payment (see payment options below). Same-day cash payment applies from second-time booking onward.

Where we are able to do so, we will accommodate bookings on shorter notice;, however, higher short-notice rates apply to any bookings being confirmed less than 48 hours in advance.

For first-time booking requests, PLEASE PROVIDE ALL OF THE INFORMATION LISTED BELOW AT LEAST 5-7 BUSINESS DAYS IN ADVANCE in order to allow sufficient time to complete the first-time booking and payment process.

To assist with booking requests, our scheduling calendar may be viewed online. This calendar is for viewing reference only; reservations can be entered by the studio only. Booked and unavailable time blocks are noted in the calendar. All recording sessions and rehearsals are held in Studio A, so you do not need to be concerned if Studio B is shown as booked at the time you're interested in. We do maintain a window of at least 30 minutes between any two sessions, to allow for load-out/load-in. So, for example, if the studio is shown as booked from 2-6pm, the next available time would start at 6:30pm.

How to Request a Session Booking

Please email booking requests to studio@dm-gremlin.com. We are always happy to answer questions or discuss projects by phone; however, the booking request and confirmation process takes place via email, comprising a written record of the studio rental contract.

With every recording session or rehearsal request, please provide all of the following information:

  • Date, start time, and end time of the reservation you are requesting
  • Total number of people who will be coming to the studio for the session or rehearsal
  • Please indicate "recording session" or "rehearsal studio reservation" request

For first-time booking requests (you have not previously booked in your own name and completed a session or rental here), please include:

  • Your full legal name
  • Statement that you are at least 18 years of age
  • Current home street address (no PO boxes)
  • Best contact telephone number
  • Style of music for your project
  • Your preference between the two payment options listed below
With any reservation request, please update us with your most current contact information if you have had a change to your address, telephone number, or email address.

You will always receive an emailed confirmation of your scheduled reservation. We are very conscientious about returning messages. If you have not heard back within 24 hours of an inquiry, it is almost certain that we did not receive your message, and you should double check with the studio regarding your reservation. If you do not have an emailed confirmation, it is your responsibility to check and find out if we have received and scheduled your session and you simply did not receive the confirmation - or if we never received your request and do not have the time booked for you. Once you have received confirmation of your session (after completion of payment for first-time clients), your reservation will appear in the studio's scheduling calendar. Run your mouse over the time that you scheduled and you should see your name or band name and the time that you scheduled pop up as a tooltip.

By making a studio reservation, you are indicating agreement with all of the studio's policies, terms, and conditions listed at http://www.dm-gremlin.com/studio/terms.html. This includes the payment, cancellation, and rescheduling policies specifying the amount of notice required by the studio if you need to reschedule or cancel a confirmed reservation. Please note that the very first reservation by any new client is non-refundable once paid, and locked to the date and time booked with no option to reschedule.

First-Time Booking Payment Options

The following two options are available for payment of the initial booking. We do not accept checks, credit cards, PayPal, or other forms of payment.

1. Cash payment by appointment at the studio with receipt provided (appointments must be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance; appointment is 5 min in studio lobby only; studio not available for tour/walkthrough during appointment hours)
2. Mailed payment by United States Postal Money Order, a specific type of money order available only at the US Post Office (please allow 2-3 business days for delivery)
